Loan fund providers, especially bankers preferred better entity than a Society. Here before SWAWS adopted a very moderate growth plans. But to cope with the ambitious growth plans of Micro Finance Sector, a better entity is thought fit.
The size of the sector is so big and the scope of the growth is amazing and requires a corporate entity and corporate governance.
Then promoters of SWAWS thought that combination of changes in legal structure and infusion of capital from institutional investors will assist the micro finance programme to avail of more resources with comfort than it did in the past that will enable it to meet its ambitious growth plan. Hence SWAWS society had on 31-03-2008, transferred the entire micro finance business to the SCCIPL a NBFC, promoted by them.
